Akai CS-MO2 Stereo Cassette Deck

£49.95

Made in Japan around 1980, this beautiful piece of equipment is almost fully working. One channel is down, on both playback of the tape, and input to the unit. A common fault is usually the NE545B Dolby IC, but I have none in stock. The signal goes into the IC, but doesn’t come back out, so this should be an easy repair - and a bit of fun for the avid restorer. The belts all seem fine, and the unit rewinds, fast forwards and plays perfectly - but you could always do the belts while you have it open? There doesn’t appear to have been any previous repairs to this unit, so it’s a great non-messed with project.

Having used tape decks all my life, I know a decent and well made unit - and if you check out the reviews on this little gem, you’ll see why they tend to change hands at high prices. It’s an easy to use, easy to service unit, made with quality parts giving a good sound. It’s not the best tape deck money can buy, but it’s the best tape deck you can buy for this money - and there’s a lot of tape decks around.

The unit has a few small marks (pictured) but is otherwise in superb condition.

.

I’m often asked why don’t just fix the item myself if it’s so easy. The answer is I have hundreds of things that need fixing, and often items that need a little repair sell quicker and easier as other people want to have a go at fixing and servicing the equipment themselves. If you would like this item to be repaired for you, please do enquire about a price.
